How to Find Your Ring Size at Home: A Simple Guide for Men

Ordering a ring online without knowing your size is the most common reason for returns. Here's how to measure accurately at home in under five minutes, no jeweler required.

Method 1: The String or Paper Strip

Wrap a thin strip of paper or string snugly around the base of your finger, where the ring will normally sit. Mark where the ends meet, then measure that length in millimeters with a ruler. That measurement is your finger's circumference, which corresponds to a standard ring size on most size charts.

Method 2: An Existing Ring You Already Own

If you have a ring that already fits the intended finger well, measure its inner diameter in millimeters, then compare it to a standard ring size conversion chart to find your equivalent size.

Timing Matters

Fingers naturally swell slightly in heat and shrink in cold. Measure at room temperature, ideally in the evening when your hands are at their most typical size, rather than first thing in the morning or after intense physical activity.

Between Sizes?

If your measurement falls between two standard sizes, sizing up is usually the safer choice for comfort, especially for wider statement bands, which tend to fit tighter than thin bands in the same labeled size.
